Drone det details

Sketch of drone net installation.

One net 0.5-1m below roof plus two divider nets as sketched below.

ASTA-onshape-drawing 02.png...

Sketch of ASTA with transparent roof and two divider nets (roof net not shown).

The nets will be suspended with a cord to the roof rings. Roof rings will be available as sketched below.

The approximate position of roof rings, and the expected type of ring to the right.

The side nets consist of two halves, that can bee pulled aside using two cords each side for each of the two nets.

Asta-net ann.png

A 3D cut of the roof and the roof net. Mounting cord for the roof net is expected to be one cord across the dome each 4m. This should in principle allow the roof net to be lowered if the cord is sufficiently long. The separator net is on the top fixed to the roof-net mounting points. The two net sides can be pulled aside to open for larger experiments. An overlap of about 1m should ensure the separator to be drone safe when closed.

Materials

Roof net divided int two nets to ease mounting.

Width 24m and 14m height give 52m, rounded corners save 10m and the corridor a bit more, roof net width is 40m.

Length is half the dome length (20m plus height 14m less rounded corner 5m plus overlap 1m, half roof net length is 30m.

Separator net wall

The half width is 12m plus overlap minus corridor is 12m. Height is 14m. Four wall nets are needed.

cord for mounting and wall opening, one cord each 4m is 10 cords, each around 8 rings average height 8m x 2 = 128m times 10 = 1280m

Cord for opening walls, about 2 x 20m for each side, 4 sides is then 160m.

In total

  • Roof net 30x40m, 1.7mm, 6cm openings, strength 450N, black, 2 x 1200m2 = 2400m2 (135kg)
  • Wall net 12x14m, 1.7mm, 6cm openings, strength 450N, black, 4 x 168m2 = 672m2 (38kg)
  • cord 8mm, strength 640N, length 1500m (30kg).
